I’ll have to say I was kinda iffy when I heard Heath Ledger would be playing The Joker. I mean, have you seen Knights Tale? I did one time. We watched it in physics one time in high school. Because objects in motion continue to stay in motion… UNLESS STRUCK UPON WITH A FREAKING LANCE! But really, that movie was REAL bad. Any movie about knights that incorporates “Low Rider” into the soundtrack is going to suck. It’s science.
In all seriousness, I don’t think anyone could have done a better job at playing The Joker. Not even Jack Nicholson. I mean, have you seen him lately? He’s so worn out from pulling mega Hollywood ass over the last 40 years that his face has turned into a leather handbag. And I don’t know if the producers would have let him wear sunglasses on the set the entire time.
Seeing this movie, although completely kick ass, did kind of anger me. I’m never going to see Heath Ledger in another movie in my lifetime.
I mean, I was really looking forward to the sequel to 10 Things I Hate About You…

oh my word, I just it last night and I’m still completely blown away. Every time Heath Ledger came on screen I couldn’t move, he was amazing. The entire thing was amazing but… yeah.

Yeah, what she said, cause I went to see the movie with the above mentioning mentioner. But, yes, Heath Ledger was amazing, very Jack Nicholson-esque, but with his own twist. The only person I know that didn’t see that movie so far is my 83 year old mother, so it must be making millions!

I can’t wait to see The Dark Knight. I love Christian Bale and Heath Ledger as actors. Ledger was excellent in 10 Things I Hate About You, actually (it’s an adaptation of The Taming of The Shrew and I’m a big Shakespeare fan, so I enjoyed it).
Haven’t seen him in Brokeback Mountain although I have it recorded and when I’m feeling a little sturdier (cos I know I’ll cry watching it) I’ll give it a go.
But The Dark Knight looks like it is his swansong. Such a tragedy we won’t get to see him in any others :-s

Hey GEORGE! I saw Dark Knight over the weekend….man it was AWESOME! I had the same reaction as you - a little pissed we won’t see him anymore and also reminiscing re: “10 Things I hate About you.” - great move! For sure an Oscar win for him posthumously.
