Just a tip

January 14th, 2008 · 19 Comments

Do not go see I Am Legend unless you want to be emotionally scarred/scared shitless at night because a FREAKING VAMPIRE MAY JUMP THROUGH YOUR WINDOW AND EAT YOU!

Seriously…  So sad.  I have never felt so depressed for a single character in a movie before.  THE MAN HAS BEEN TALKING TO MANNEQUINS FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS!  How could you not feel sorry for him?  The whole theater was crying…

And I still loved it.

The ended was disappointing. You should read the book that the movie is based on. It is much more satisfying!

Ok. So did you just ruin the movie that I really wanted to see?

    GEORGE.

I totally agree with Laurenne! The movie is good, but the BOOK! So amazing! Plus, a WAY more depressing story.

I’ve been hearing not to waste my money on this… now I’m confused.

I cried like a baby. My boyfriend looked at me like I was nuts. He has no soul.

I’m with ya, George. Plus, for days I thought I was going to get eaten by scary monsters at night. And that my poor kitty would be joining them…

I’m with u George. Bob Marley=loves it. I cried, I jumped, I left nail marks in hubbies arm. Sounds kind of kinky…Made we want to get in shape & stock my storm cellar. But the vampires could easily break into it so maybe I need one of those indestructible tornado rooms sunk underground. hmmm…

I want to know did you cry for Sam? I won’t see it because of that scene.

  • AmyElle // Jan 14, 2008 at 10:41 am

I freakin’ loved that movie. Yes, it scared the hell out of me. I cried. Actually, I experienced every emotion during that movie.

I’m also kind of bizarre. I am so sick of fairy tale endings. It was refreshing to see everyone didn’t live happily ever after.

Agree with AmyElle… As brutal as that scene was, it made a good movie great.

I had to control my sobbing during the Sam scene. I was such a wreck that even my boyfriend said I almost made him cry because of how sad I got. I really loved that movie. I’m glad you did too.

I told people I saw this movie and they asked “was it good?”

“No,” I replied, “but Will Smith is AWESOME in it.”

He made me cry, too. Movies never make me cry and I was weeping. WEEPING.

just as i was totally getting into will smith’s character and forgetting he was will smith, and really feeling how lonely the whole thing was, poof! hollywood appeared and had me almost laughing at the lameness of the end and the gaping plot holes. super.

Don’t worry, I’m never watching it because of Sam. Didn’t watch the first movie, either, probably won’t read the book, and still hope someone makes special friends with Michael Vick in prison.

You really should have put SPOILER ALERT on this post. I really wanted to see that film. Ah well.

  • stephanie // Jan 15, 2008 at 3:50 pm

they werent vampires. they were humans sick with a mutated virus. mutated viruses do not cause vampires. they do, however, cause people to be afraid of my labs at school. even though all we do is make e.coli glow.

I loved the film but basically “28 Days Later” (which preceeded it) is 1930492304823048 times better. If you liked “I Am Legend” but you’d like to see it without all the Hollywood bullshit, watch the English version of an almost identical plot.
