“This is what we should do…”
“Listening.”
“We should get a place together somewhere. Get degrees. And join the FBI.”
“I’m pretty sure government jobs don’t pay well.”
“Yea, but we get to carry GUNS.”
“Good point.”
He also said we should think up 3 places to live together and then pitch the ideas to each other this coming Monday. 3 places other than SLC. So shutup Sarah and Maddie. The only place I could think of so far is Austin. Very cool city, still close to home, and UT is right there. So yea.
1 out of 3.

Shut up? NEVER!

Yeah, Austin pretty much rocks.

How about Reno? If you can ignore the gambling it’s actually a great place to live. Jobs are plentiful, the scenery is beautiful, and you don’t have to drive that far to visit hookers legally.

Lived in Reno and must disagree. I have only visited Austin but I would far rather live there. And I hate humidity. The last place in the world I would ever live again (after Utah, that is) is Reno.
Las Vegas however…another story altogether.

Denver is supposed to be THE place for singles, but I’d perfer San Diego or Boston.
Sally // Oct 24, 2007 at 4:30 pm
I’m going to Boston tomorrow! So, yeah, Boston or Ft Myers Beach Florida, humid, but lots of good crimes to solve, what with your FBI stuff and all, and I’m sure the FBI cars have great air conditioning, and we’ve got babes in bikinis all year long, so, yeah, you should move here, or Boston

I’m going to go with Denver…very nice place when I visited. I’ve never been to Austin but know people who live there and say it’s amazing. Personally, I love New Orleans or Chicago. But that’s just me…then again, you could always move to OKC and be an hour away from me…then we could totally hang out.

Oh dear. I would NEVER suggest someone live in SLC. Yuck.

Portland, OR. Super far away, but it’s beautiful, clean, and full of nice people.

Hi George! I’m totally a lurker, but I have to comment here. Although Austin absolutely rocks (I got my undergrad degree from UT), has great live music, food, and people, I totally agree with the couple of other commenters that have said Denver is the place to be. I just moved here from San Antonio last winter and have loved it so far. The mountains are gorgeous, the climate is great (it snows, but doesn’t generally stick in the city for too long), the city has great character (think homes and neighborhoods), and the people are great (whether you are single or not). PLUS, there are at least five major professional sports teams (although the Spurs will always be number one in my book), so there is always something sports-wise to do. Don’t forget the great museums, restaurants, music venues, etc. Blah blah blah. Seriously, consider Denver.

Plus, Texas is hotter than hell and you can still fly home for around $250 bucks.

DENVER! I’m moving there in a little bit. I have several friends that live there, and it’s awesome.

Ha. Heather (roomie/best friend) and her soon-to-be husband are going to move to Denver in a few years and they’re trying to get me and my not-so-soon-to-be husband to follow along. Everybody’s doing it.

Chicago has cute girls, lots of sports, cute girls, great bars, cute girls, Navy Pier, cute girls, um… do I need to go on?

Denver, well anywhere in Colorado is good to be if you love the outdoors….skiing, camping, hiking, climbing. It is gorgeous! If you don’t (like me) that stuff, then being single there is not so great. It’s very much a part of the culture. Just throwing that in…

austin has ass-grabbing.
true story.

Pros for Reno: lovely Lake Tahoe, JJ’s Pizza, Blind Onion Pizza, Ed’s, California Street, the Old Southwest, proximity to San Francisco, watching the Burning Man Festival-goers come through once a year, The Reno Rodeo (!), the high sierra, and omgoodness, it’s so easy and fast to get anywhere you want to go.
Cons for Reno: The proximity to SF is like, 2 or 3 hours driving. Its very easy to feel very isolated. There isn’t much shopping, and there isn’t a pro sports team. Downtown casinos are gross. Seems like a lot of people smoke a lot of pot.

You know, Indianapolis is pretty awesome.

You have a lot of people telling you to move to their city because they think you are cool. But I know better and I think that the further away from me you are, the better. Hence, Anchorage, Alaska or Dover, Delaware. Or how about Caribou, Maine?
They all sound like very fun cities, George. Be a risk taker. Stay away from Austin and Houston… they’re mine.

Colorado Springs is about an hour south of Denver and is closer to the mountains. Once again, quite the city. Close to UT, but not right around the block. Plenty of stuff to do. I have lived here just over a year and loved every second of it.

your blog is against me leaving comments. i’m munna punch it in the face.
anyway, what i said was that you know i’ve been bugging you to come to the east coast, except for the fact that here [boston area] the rent is only second to maybe nyc and sf, and the job situation for the most part is shitty.
so take a road trip instead once you guys get settled

People move away from Winnipeg not to it! Toronto is filled to the brim with ex-peggers.
I’ve only driven through most of the northernly states so I don’t have any input for you, sorry.
I do however vote for Denver, but only because I cannot say the name without saying “John” before that and John Denver was on the Muppets when I was a kid and that was pretty good so I like Denver based on that.
yep.
Oh Vermont seems pretty too from what I’ve seen.
I keep seeing Mormon Missonaries on the subway here, totally not doing their jobs at all not talking to anyone and frankly looking a bit terrified of the rush hour commuters.

okay so how about this… a city with a good affordable college, very affordable living, less than two hours away from, mountains, beach, los angeles, orange county, san diego. somewhat hickish to keep you from getting homesick from texas, but not to hickish that andy would be killed for wearing a lip ring and having long hair. very similar climate to texas. big enough city so that there are always options, but not too big so that you are overwhelmed….do you know what city i am talking about? plus there is this really badass guy who lives there…know yet? Hes drinking beer right now….thats right it is BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIA….plus jesses gonna live here
piglet // Oct 30, 2007 at 8:12 pm
