School school I like school!

August 30th, 2007 · 6 Comments

The only classes I haven’t fallen asleep in so far are speech and weightlifting.  Weightlifting for obvious reasons and speech because my teacher is under the age of 50 and is actually lively.  I have to give my humanities teacher credit though, the class is very interesting, it just also happens to start at 8:30 am.  None of my classes seem like they’ll be too difficult, the only hard thing will be keeping myself from punching the girl who sits next to me in art in the face.  She had to send at least 300 text messages today.  Good thing she went to TCHS, (most likely after I graduated)  so you know she’s smart.

Going to community college makes you feel old.

Also, I tweaked my right shoulder somehow in weightlifting yesterday.  Which is odd because it’s not like I’m doing any more weight than I normally do.  Maybe it was the push-ups I did for the fitness test.

Aaah, classmates. One of the most annoying parts about college. Sounds like you’re doing great though, George!

300? That’s not excessive AT ALL.

Ahem. Her daddy is probably paying for them.

Ahem. I didn’t feel old when I went to a JC (not a CC). Of course, I was 17.

Just kidding George! Have fun at school.

You’re getting classes in lots of different subjects? That’s quite different to how it’s done in the UK…well, up until age 16 we get general education then after that classes depend on the subject i.e. I took a graphic design degree course therefore all my classes were design, with related lectures in design history & art / nudes drawing lessons.

I thought you were doing a catering course? Confusing me with the weightlifting and speech classes…

I teach at a community college in my hometown, and I’m going to be watching your site to follow your adventures in school. I’m trying to do anything I can to gain some insight into how these kids think (and, trust me, sometimes I use the word “think” generously). Any help you can give me would be most appreciated…
