…Kind of.
Been busy around the house trying to get things ready for a wedding party we’re having tonight. My best friend since 5th grade is getting married tomorrow and we’re having everyone over for a Pool/Guitar Hero party. I’ll be making fajitas and guacamole (the recipe where you scoop the contents into your mouth until the bowl is empty) and my mom made cupcakes.
My dad and I have worked about 10 hours outside the last two days in the Texas heat. Honestly, I think I forgot what it was like to actually sweat while living in Utah, I think my eyelids were even sweating the last two days. We dug up my mom’s shitty flower beds and put down rocks/mulch where the dead flowers were and installed an awning on the back porch right where you walk outside the door. Have you seen those infomercials for SunSetter? Because that is definitely what we have. The motorized one though, it takes about 1000 cranks on the handle if you do it manually. I don’t think anyones arm should rotate 1000 times in a day, let alone a 5 minute period. Definitely worth however much more my dad paid to get a motorized one. I’ll post pictures of our new backyard within a month. After my body stops hurting.
The trip home wasn’t too bad at all, about 9 hours on the road Monday and 11 on Tuesday. Would have gotten home sooner if my dad hadn’t traded in his bladder for a woman’s and we had to stop about every 100 miles. On the second day my mom asked me if I wanted to stop when we were about 100 miles away and I told her I’d just stick it out through Denton and make it home. When I got on I-35 I couldn’t help but smile, not because of the potential of highway when the construction is done, but because I felt like I was actually home. I really do miss Heather Jon Leta and Chuck and everything…
But it just feels so right.

I’m glad your decision turned out to be the right one for you, so many times something holds us back from doing what we need to do.

it’s not outrageously hot here but it’s been humid as shit which made 90s night uh…interesting. and by interesting i mean very, very sweaty.
pools are a good thing. i would have gone to that party. water, guacamole, and motorized awnings are all things that i enjoy.

Will you share your guacamole recipe with us? I think it’s fine time for the rest of us to scoop guac into our mouths one spoonful at a time.
