Question.

August 1st, 2006 · 9 Comments

Has anyone else noticed that XM radio isn’t crystal clear like advertised, but actually sounds like shit on some of the stations (u-pop, hits etc). It sounds like those low quality mp3s you used to get off napster when it was free.

I’m pretty sure it’s not just my dad’s radio, it HAS to sound like crap on someone else’s radio.

Let me know.

    Agreed.
    My XM sounds like crap.

Yes. I was just griping about that yesterday after using DH’s car and listening to his.

    Yup.

PS; Remind me to tell you about the new Tahoe my mom got. It’s gorgeous. And you should turn GEORGE!ous into an adjective.

I have had Sirius for over a year now and it sounds pretty good to me. I got XM free for 3 months with my new car and it sounded ok too, except for the crappy music they played.

Maybe that’s the problem? I was annoyed by the awful music and I didn’t pay attention to their quality as I was turning it off…so maybe it does suck.

    Sirius rocks. I’m serious.

We had the dock in both of our cars, then we got a new car that already had it installed. It’s perfectly clear other than when under an overpass or in the garage. But then it’s not crappy sounding, it just goes blank. No fuzzy wuzzies.

Tell DORJ!’s dad to get serious… uh, I mean Sirius.

we have XM on our dish and i can definitely tell a difference in playing that vs. a CD or quality-bought MP3.

    george, you’re so smart.

That’s why I live in California where the radio is free and it plays good music (like 94.9’s Big Sonic Chill. It makes life worth living).

I don’t really have a problem with the sound quality and we have several players. Home, office, car, personal. However, I rarely take it off of the extreme comedy channel. How much can you tell about sound quality from Lewis Black?

Don’t know about XM but Sirius sounds like I put my speekers in tin cans. Cancled my subscription within a month. FM has way better SQ.
