June 21st, 2006 · 28 Comments

A Clog Standoff has begun, due to one’s (Heather B Armstrong) response to a recent installment of “Stuff on Chuck” which included clogs.

Supporters of clogs have recently been seen around the country.

    Blue?! You’re kidding me, right?

  • blurb // Jun 21, 2006 at 2:04 pm

    Thank you, George!

For all the male clog wearers the world over, you are a HERO in this battle.

  • cathleen // Jun 21, 2006 at 2:51 pm

i bought a pair before all the attention. i love them, screw you if you don’t like the way the look it’s all about the comfort.

  • the jenn // Jun 21, 2006 at 3:21 pm

    Those are ugly mofos.

  • Leslie // Jun 21, 2006 at 5:07 pm

While I’m not a huge fan of the clogs, the only thing I can see in that picture is a distinct lack of leg hair. How is it possible that you maintain all that hair on your head and face and also have prepubescent hairless legs?

  • kelly // Jun 21, 2006 at 6:34 pm

    you’re kidding, leslie. yes?

  • deb // Jun 21, 2006 at 10:36 pm

hmm i also wasn’t as absorbed by the fact of the blue clogs, but rather the obvious lack of male leg hair….

  • cathleen // Jun 21, 2006 at 10:41 pm

hmm could should be someone other than George in the photo, just a thought.

  • GEORGE! // Jun 21, 2006 at 11:53 pm

    Yea, they’re hairless cause they’re a 6 or 7 year old kid’s legs. I snapped a picture real quick, because… HEY! CLOGS!

I have huge-mongous calfs and hairy legs… So not me, obviously.

Although I do want some croc water socks….

I am going to lobby for a clog fetish group now!!!

  • Angela // Jun 22, 2006 at 10:58 am

    For!

  • Sara Sue // Jun 22, 2006 at 12:37 pm

I support your right to wear them…but DAYMMMNNN they is Ugly!

  • Merry // Jun 22, 2006 at 12:55 pm

    Clogs = Ridiculous.

  • Angela // Jun 22, 2006 at 1:13 pm

Also to Maiken while I was looking for celebrity pictures of them in clogs for Jon I came across a HUGE clog fetish site. It turned out to be quite creepy.

I love my clogs and I don’t understand the problem.

  • heather // Jun 22, 2006 at 2:32 pm

it is possible to love both clogs and pink strappy heels.
cant we all just get along?

  • Maiken // Jun 22, 2006 at 3:55 pm

Thanks, Angela! I am so going to Google clog fetish. I think men who are willing to wear clogs are probably willing to be more open…but that is perhaps too serious for this situation. ;)

  • Sara // Jun 22, 2006 at 4:07 pm

I support everyones right to wear clogs!

  • Rock // Jun 22, 2006 at 6:20 pm

NO NO NO NO NO…NON! You mustn’t wear of the clogs. It is detrimetal to the health of you.

They are ever so cramping to the toes. Might I suggest the Birkenstock sandal? The Arizona? Let’s the toesies breathe and footbed conforms to the countours of your feetsies. And you don’t even have to attend a Dave Matthews or Jack Johnson concert to wear them.

  • jami // Jun 22, 2006 at 6:49 pm

whilst i really really feel men should wear clogs only in the safety of their own home, or in the kitchen, or any other damn time they choose
i gotta say, i (a clog loving gal) hate crocs
    i also hate keens
but i say, let jon wear the clogs fer crying out loud
i mean, he let heather buy the TOTALLY not in the budget
    strappy shoes, right? right

  • Nic // Jun 23, 2006 at 3:55 am

Im not clogist. You have to keep an open mind. I say GO CLOGS!!!!!

  • brandy // Jun 23, 2006 at 9:54 am

Rock-Crocs are made from some super material that forms to your feet, is antibactieral and the toes have plenty of room.

I support the right to clog.

I also support the right to pink heels.

Socks and sandals and the weird guy at my gym who wears bright blue swim trunks, a mens undershirt, dress socks pulled up to his knees and weird old running shoes who also sweats excessively and does not clean off the equipment and keeps smiling at me..that I do not support.

  • Oregon Girl // Jun 23, 2006 at 10:38 am

Go Clogs– even though I’m more of a flip-flop girl– they’re much cheaper and I must have 20 pairs (no joke).

And I still can’t believe people thought those were DORJ! legs… LOL!

And, DORJ!— what’s the “girl status”? We’re all waiting to hear how it played itself out… come on, dude, details. Please. Please.

  • Ceece // Jun 23, 2006 at 10:47 am

I too, had a pair of the crocs before the croc hay-day, and agree that it’s all about the comfort in this case.

    These babies rule!

Don’t knock ‘em till you tried ‘em, as soon as my son get’s big enough feet I’ll be slapping a pair on him too (much to my husbands chagrin)

  • Steph // Jun 24, 2006 at 10:52 am

I love CROCS!!!! Had a few pairs before the hype…..they are more comfortable than birks…..yeah I just said that….I HATE socks and “real” shoes so these are just the best ever….I would wear them for a week at Disneyland and know I would have no feet issues after…..rock on CROCS!!!!!

  • Stenar // Jun 24, 2006 at 1:59 pm

Take a word of advice from the gay community, who have better fashion sense and taste than the rest of you combined and STEP AWAY FROM THE CLOGS before someone gets hurt.

  • minxlj // Jun 28, 2006 at 7:09 am

    No, George, NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

They are horrendous and look like you’re wearing a battered wellington boot…

  • Erin // Jul 2, 2006 at 11:54 pm

They have made their way to the East coast. I am not happy about this!

  • Itisha Peerbhoy // Nov 24, 2006 at 1:48 am

Yep. Clogs it is. They’ve made their way to India and just to make things more pukey, I have a pink pair.
