Why am I quitting my job? Besides the fact I contemplate punching someone in the face or jumping through the window at least four times a day, everyday?

I liken myself to Jim from The Office (US Version)…

“Right now, this is just a job.  If I advance any higher in this company then this would be my career. If this were my career… I’d have to throw myself in front of a moving train.”
I’ve decided to go back to school full time, this time for Culinary… third time’s the charm they say.  Hopefully I won’t change my major again.  I’m gonna go to Collin County Community College for the Summer, and then plan on moving back to Utah and going to UVSC in August.  Yes, I’m moving back to happy valley, never thought that would happen again.

The doctor called me back Thursday night, the results were good.  My Cholesterol and Blood Sugar are good… so hey… keep up this dieting thing and maybe I can avoid getting diabetes.

Things not on the diet but I ate anyway last night?  Wings.  Joni (friend from work) and I went to Wing House, which should really be named Hooters Part 2.  The first time we went they had the B squad working, so it was kind of like Hooters with better food but uglier girls.  When we went last night they had their A squad (or is it Double D squad?) working.  Too bad the A squad provides horrible service.  We were done eating and just sitting there watching basketball for about 25 minutes, no waitress comes by at all.  We just really want our check so we can leave.  I go up to the front and ask the hostess (6 foot tall blonde with huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge… brains.) if our waitress went home or something.  She said no, went to go find her… blah blah blah… I talk to the Manager who is a really nice guy, he takes a few bucks off our tab, we leave happy.

Anyway, they have really good wings, if you like wings and don’t mind short shorts, boobs in your face, and the waitress calling you “babe”, you should check it out.  Better than Hooters, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Wingstop in my opinion.

Hey, now that you’re quitting, we won’t have to pull so many quickies!

    Kidding. Stop thinking that.

Good news about the diabetes then, I’m really pleased for you. Good, good news.

And you’re doing culinary at school! George, I haven’t even tasted your legendary chicken recipes (and won’t ever, unless I turn carnivore…but I’m sure your potatoes are yuuuumm-ee) but I’ve got a pretty good feeling that you’ll make a fantastic chef. You really know your recipes…but erm, try to throw in a little broccoli for me :)

someday, you should travel to buffalo, ny, and get real, authentic buffalo wings. there are at least two pizza shops on every corners and they’re all super cheap and super good!

Guess painting my house is out, then? Oh well. If your culinary studies bring you to my neck of the woods, stop in for a glass of champagne.

It’s nice to hear about your good medical report.
My youngest son’s girlfriend wears an insulin pump and I fret all the time about my cooking being alright for her to be eating. Really makes me think about good health.

My grandma told me that a good cook will always have a job, but getting a paycheck worthy of such talent is hard.
    Good luck with your schooling.

Glad everything turned out all right. We found out my youngest cousin had it a few years ago, though finding out was a pretty traumatic process (she almost died…and it was triggered by her eating a whole BAG full of bite sized Snickers). She wears an insulin pump now.

    Anyway, take care of yourself.

Culinary school! I’ve known many a friends that found their lease on life via culinary schools and are very happy people. Great place for type “A’s”, creative, gets bored easily, likes to nurture others. Good for you! And, who says changing your major is a bad thing? Why stay stuck in something you hate and then become “yet another bastard” in this world. Be happy. Do work that makes you happy. It’s really ok to be HAPPY!

Toots on the diabetes thing too, diabetes sucks.

Yeah, congrats on the diet. It’s SO HARD. I recently found out I am allergic to gluten/wheat, and I have to stop eating everything I love so much in the world. More than myself and my family, I mean, more than, um…other things. So I’m having to start cooking, checking labels, etc. It really sucks. I hope you’re doing well.
