My mom has recently discovered the “Drunk Angle” picture, quite similar to the “Myspace Angle”. Looking at these pictures makes me want to throw up… why is it tilted to the side? It may look cool at first sight, but after a while it’s just wrong.

I am seriously sitting here with my stomach turning in knots after going through all her pictures she took tonight and having to rotate them to where they actually looked like a normal picture. Going through these pictures I realized my mom was definitely born before her time. She missed out on the whole Myspace thing. I would know, I don’t spend a whole lot of time (see 3 or 4 hours like my Emo friends, commenting with old friends from highschool, or that girl you wished you would have taken advantage of that one time she was drunk at that party, because now she’s a major headcase and probably has at least 3 stds…), but I am known to check for messages or comments at least 20-30 times a day. Every now and then I’ll even post a bulletin about home people should “leave me sum luv!!!!” on my “picz”. Because if these random girls I don’t know from my high school can do it, so can I.

I feel ashamed for writing a post about myspace… sometimes I just feel dirty after answering someone’s survey, or carrying on a casual conversation with that drunk girl with 3 stds. But other times it just feels so damn good to get comments from friends you probably wouldn’t talk to in real life. While Andrew and I were waiting 7 hours for Bryan to get back to Utah because he missed at least 4 flights back from Las Vegas, we went around commenting on random people’s Myspace pages. Trent was also being a big puss playing Mario Tennis on my gameboy and couldn’t do anything else except wear girl pants and sunglasses, even when indoors, because he is just that emo(Why do girls like this? This pisses Andrew and I off ROYALLY, but it will be discussed another day.), so we had no choice.

Andrew asked a few girls for naked pictures, because they might as well go the whole way if they’re gonna be that big of a slut on the internet. We also posted a bulletin from Bryan’s account declaring that he was gay, because he obviously is if he wears girls pants all the time, and is reading a novel about a teenage girl dealing with alcoholism. I went around leaving people obscure comments about stupid inside jokes, or lyrics from a song we both sang together when we were driving around or just hanging out, because I am all about nostalgia, baby. I can play the strings of a ladies heart like a fiddle and I do not put it to waste, even on Myspace.

Is the world a better place since Myspace was created? Maybe, maybe not. It has probably created some unwanted situations… meeting someone from Myspace and them being MUCH uglier than their picture, awkward conversation at the grocery store, that creepy person requesting you as a friend 4 times a day. We may come back to this post 5 years later when the third world war is started over a comment battle on myspace and realize that the bad just might have outweighed the good when it comes to Myspace.
