First off, happy Easter!

Me wearing a pastel-ish orange for Easter Sunday, aren’t I the festive one?

Second off, I also wore the orange in response to Illinois’ victory over Arizona. Did anyone else reading catch that game? (I know you did Robert, I’m surprised you didn’t have a heart attack and die.) That was an AMAZING game. One of the best I’ve seen all of my life. What also sweetens the effect of the victory was the MVP of the game, Deron Williams, went to The Colony High School. Yes, right here in good ol’ TC, CITY BY THE LAKE BIATCH!

Deron hit 3 three pointers and played amazing defense that saved the Illini’s season. He definitely just bumped up his NBA stock there. I’m proud for him, he deserves it. I’ll always remember him as one of the nicest and most humble people to ever walk the earth. Some of you may know that I played basketball all the time growing up. I played my freshman and sophomore year in high school, and during the offseason workouts in basketball, Deron never got down on anyone, or acted like he was better than anyone there. He was always a motivator who knew what to do and when to do it. After I quit basketball Deron would always go out of his way to say “hi” or “what’s up Boone?” in the hallway passing by.

Congratulations Deron, you deserve it. Especially after Nate called you Ronald McDonald on the bus coming home from a game one time, and everyone was making fun of you for the rest of the season. Good thing you cut the ‘fro.
